How to Register

Please bring your NHS medical card to the surgery during opening hours, or if you cannot find it ask for a form at reception. Please ask for help if you need assistance with the form. Your previous medical records will reach us quicker if you can let us have your medical card.

Prescriptions

If you need to order a repeat prescription then please give us your request at least 2 working days before you need the tablets. In most case you will have a printed list of prescriptions that was attached to a previous prescription. This shows the medications that your doctor has authorised on repeat.

You can request a prescription using the following services:

  • Tick the item you require on your list and post in the prescription box located in reception
  • Email your request to: http://www.mrsite.co.uk/repeat.prescriptions@GP-A84005.nhs.uk
  • Telephone the surgery (01670 822695) between the hours of 8:30am and 6:00pm
  • If you have registered with our online service then you can order your prescriptions securely online. Please ask at reception if you would like more details on this service
If you require a medication that is not on your prescription list then please ring the Prescription Query Line. The telephone number is 01670 828831. The line is open from 10am until 2pm Monday to Friday. Alternatively send us your request in writing or email. Please ensure you send us your full details including date of birth and address and the name of the drug you are requesting.

Occasionally your doctor may ask you to make an appointment to review your prescriptions. This is to ensure your medications are still appropriate for you and to ensure any tests you need are carried out.

Please allow 2 working days before collecting your prescription. You can collect your prescription in person at the surgery or you can arrange for the prescription to be sent to a chemist of your choice (please allow 3 working days). Please inform us if you require this service.

We are happy to post your prescription to your home address, however you will need to provide a stamped addressed envelope.

Training Practice

Our practice is an approved teaching practice for medical students and doctors training to be General Practitioners (GP Registrars). Registrars are fully qualified doctors, often with a great deal of hospital experience. They are attached to the practice for 6 to 12 months and many people find their fresh, enthusiastic approach adds to the health care we provide. The registrars are part of the practice team and encouraged to seek advice from the other doctors whenever required.

Sometimes you may be asked if your consultation may be recorded on video. This forms part of the teaching and examination requirements for the registrar. You will be asked for permission before being videoed and to sign a consent form. No intimate examination will be recorded. The video consultation will be erased once it has been analysed. If you prefer your consultation not to be recorded please state this at reception.

Confidentiality

All patient information (medical or otherwise) is treated with the utmost respect and confidentiality. Although we are computerised, we are not linked to other computer networks and nobody is allowed access to patient data without authorisation. We abide by the laws of the Data Protection Act.

Complaints

Occasionally you may feel unhappy about an aspect of your care. If you are not satisfied then please tell us - we can attempt to put matters right. Please do not be angry with the reception staff as they have a very difficult job. If you have a problem, please ask to speak to the Practice Manager or the Assistant Practice Manager.

Private Services

There are charges for providing services outside of NHS healthcare e.g. insurance reports, some certificates and driving medicals. A list of charges is available at reception.
