Emergencies Outside Normal Hours

When the surgery is closed, care for urgent problems will be provided by Northern Doctors Urgent Care (NDUC).  NDUC provides an Out of Hours Service for people registered with GP practices in Northumberland when surgeries are closed - during the evening, nights, weekends and Bank Holidays.  If you require a doctor outside normal working hours telephone NDUC on 0845 608 0320. 

A trained operator will answer your call and take some personal details and basic information about your problem.  A doctor or nurse will ring you back and advise you on the most appropriate level of care.  It may be necessary for you to visit a local Out of Hours Centre.  There, you will be seen by a nurse or doctor and given advice/and or treatment.  If you are unable to travel to the Centre, transport will be available to take you to the Centre and back to your home.  A home visit may be available if the doctor thinks this appropriate.  Please only contact NDUC if you have a medical problem that cannot wait until the surgery opens.
